Because without a government shutdown the dems won't even think about going to the table for discussion. Sad but it's the truth.

@abe182 There is no discussion to be had. There will be no Congressionally-approved funding for the wall. The discussion is now complete.

@daisymay yeah he asked Nancy and she said NO.
daisymay · 51-55, T
@abe182 And? Is that supposed to make me change my mind about the asinine wall?
abe182 · 46-50, M
@daisymay she didn't want a conversation or a discussion about it. It's her who is not communicating. I am not here to change anyone's mind but present the facts.

@abe182 Like I said. There is no need for a discussion. There will be no Congressional funding for a wall. It's all political theatre, otherwise they would have gotten it done in the first 2 years of the administration. Why didn't they? This crisis has only been growing since the last POTUS threw the borders wide open, right?

@daisymay good point.

@abe182 The dems would compromise. They’ll fund the wall in exchange for DACA, for example. But the “all or nothing” approach should have been tried when the government was unified - now you’ll have to have bipartisan agreement, and come together in the middle.
