Don’t worry Britain, after Brexit we can have Rees-mogg as PM and Yaxley-Lennon as Secretary of State for concentration camps

Perhaps a bit of a exaggeration but you know, you’d have said I was exaggerating 6 years ago if I predicted this Brexit mess then. Worth a shot, eh?

National sovereignty -> concentration camps

That's a perfectly reasonable, rational, and sane progression.

#sarcasm

@AndrewtheAlu Being in favor of one's fellow citizens is not the same as being opposed to citizens of other countries. All the condescension and willful idiocy in the world won't change that.

As for your disingenuous challenge, Farage married a German national. That xenophobe. #sarcasm

So, all that talk about no shame in admitting you're wrong, now is your chance to prove that you're more than just a douchey demagogue. Or not. I suspect you'll choose the not route.
@Sicarium yes, and proceeded to get his children German passports so they could continue with all the EU benefits he’s persuaded the country to surrender. But I’m glad you haven’t tried to defend him for his xenophobic behaviour. Maybe some of the people who do can follow your example. Ignoring it is at least one step closer to calling it out.
Still waiting for that EU law though 😏 or any reason for Brexit for that matter. All you’ve done is call me a strawman and not backed yourself up at all.
I said I’d log off nearly 10 minutes ago so I probably should actually do that. Thanks for discussing this with me, I’m glad neither of us descended too far into pathetic insults. ^^

@AndrewtheAlu Lol, now you're just reading what you want to read. Farage isn't a xenophobe. You just need him to be for that false moral high ground I mentioned.

When the truth is stranger than satire, you know we're in trouble.
@GlassDog it’s been like this for 3 years man. I want my satire back
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@AndrewtheAlu @GlassDog I can't watch The Thick of it anymore cos it's too realistic.
GlassDog · 46-50, M
@Burnley123 I'm a big fan of Armando Iannucci and I wasn't ever expecting him to join the coal miners and dock workers in a redundant trade.
MrMonnyPenny · 22-25, M
That's sounded good up until yaxley. He's a dafty, as well as those yobs that surrounded Soubry.
@MrMonnyPenny I would suggest that Rees-Mogg is only the upper class version of them though really. They shout bullshit at Soubry’s face and he mumbles bullshit from a TV/radio studio.
MrMonnyPenny · 22-25, M
Mogg is more of a classical liberal which is the closest I can see to my own views. It’s clear his view of brexit is one of free trade. Yaxley and his followers belong to the protectionist/racist view of brexit which I don’t agree with. @AndrewtheAlu

Is it true that, in British English, "Europe" refers to the continent?
@helenS It shouldn’t, but it’s become that. Somehow we’ve forgotten that we’re Europe too :(
helenS · 36-40, F
@AndrewtheAlu As a dedicated supporter of the Free Republic of Europe, I feel really sorry for you good people.
TheCensoredBrot · 31-35, M
It wasn't that hard to predict.
TheCensoredBrot · 31-35, M
@AndrewtheAlu It was blatantly obvious from the off
@TheCensoredBrot from 2013? I mean, with all the tabloid press and Farage shit that’s been going on for decades it was obvious to end up like this in hindsight, but 6 years ago it wasn’t predictable then.
If you managed it, you really ought to get into journalism or psychicing. You’d make a killing
TheCensoredBrot · 31-35, M
@AndrewtheAlu Give me a fiver and I'll predict next weeks lottery numbers for you 😉
