it explains why politicans act like they do and why you would do the same in their position

Very cool. Also I suspect that even if a leader is benevolent, they would have made many enemies just waiting to destroy them. That means staying in power becomes a matter of life and death, and the leader gets pushed to take desperate measures to hang onto power right or wrong

The only way I could see where society might break the cycle is if leaders live completely transparent lives, Truman Show style. Or we go with artificial intelligence leaders. Might happen
