@EmilyEdith I had a conversation with a person along these lines...

Him: Need a wall!
Me: How about climbers, catapults, tunnels?
Him: Well, you need to patrol every inch of it. Idiot.
Me: So why do we need the wall part?

Exactly, and I was yipping about this a year ago. Awesome idea to get Mexico to pay for the actual wall , but where are we plugging the wall lights in? Who is paying that utility bill and the wages of the little people that have to watch the damn wall all the time now?
Besides, I think walls tend to say 'jump over me!' If you're in a big rush to get out of somewhere.

@EmilyEdith The Wall is nothing more than a symbol. We could save $25 billion by changing our national motto from E Pluribus Unum to Fuck You Immigrants, and would accomplish the same thing.

I understand the theory of the wall, but its just a dare to the kind of people Trump is always blustering about entering the U.S.The smart ones are flying to Canada and stepping over the flower pots that delineate our cool and breezy Canadian border. Oops I gave away a National Security secret. Sorry, America.

You should immigrate legally, but if you are bent on doing things the other way, there is no physical barrier that will stop you. In time, it will be a field trip destination, they'll add gift shop, a snack bar, some affluent non- native plants that will need manicuring, there is another bill...... It will be no more than a long skinny Presidential Library ... And it will be dedicated to Trump.

I agree it's a big waste of tax dollars. My kid is still sharing a science textbook with 2 other kids in his eighth grade public school classroom.
