Think I've done it 2 times in my life that I can think of - the night we watched our (then)Amateur Olympic hockey team beat Russia in 1980, and again a night or two later when they beat Finland.

Until the MAGA rallies, I hadn't noticed it chanted anywhere, though I may have forgotten. I am curious what a wisened old cat like yourself might think of it.

@hlpflwthat I asked because I was thinking back to the sentencing hearing ( that wasn't as it turned out) for Mike Flynn when the judge excoriated him for selling his country out and basically called him a traitor. Upon leaving the courtroom there was a group of #MAGA idiots (Oathkeepers maybe) who tried to drown out the chants of 'Lock Him Up' with 'USA'. I just struggle to understand how they can consider themselves patriots while defending somebody whom the judge had just accused of treason. Likewise , it's the same thing when the people at Trump rallies chant it , knowing deep down (if they're honest with themselves) that the guy they helped elect is most certainly a crook and most likely a traitor too.

@RodionRomanovitch Those folks are a puzzle to me as well. My guess is they haven't experienced mob mentality at sporting events or the other 'more acceptable' instances most of us learn about getting swept up in a crowd.
