@lorne13 At one level you are correct. But very distance has made us vulnerable to small shifts in policy, being a close neighbour to a quarter of a BILLION Muslims in Indonesia. So foreign policy blow back can come hard. And the racist, and anti reasoned speech that has emerged during the Trump Campaign and Presidency has emboldened a bunch of throwers of hate speech here. More is the pity.

@whowasthatmaskedman hate speech spreads like a disease, in Canada too, luckily the ignorance that goes with it shows clearly. Sorry to hear that Australia is not far enough away
