Trump's approval rating holds at 48 percent - Amazing?

Despite all the negative rhetoric, Trump still holding 48% approval rating!

FYI - That's about the same as Obama's rating at this time of his tenure in office.

I am really impressed with Trump's performance!

every time I check his approval it says 33%
Budwick · 70-79, M
@lorne13 Remember when the polls kept saying Hillary was gonna win? Right up until she lost.

Polls don't mean squat.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Budwick The polls showed Hillary with a victory of 4% of the popular vote, with a margin of error of 3%. She won by a little over 2.5%. The polls were accurate and within the margin of error.

Polling is typically done at a 95% confidence level, meaning that there is a 95% chance the actually tally is within the margin of error. That also means that 5% (1 in 20) will fall outside that margin.

@windinhishair
She won by a little over 2.5%
And yet Trump is president.

So much for polls.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Budwick Trump is president due to a quirk in our electoral system. That doesn't invalidate polling in any way. It is like arguing that a cold spell in one part of the US invalidates global climate change......oh wait, you do that too.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@windinhishair
due to a quirk in our electoral system.
The quirk that says if you get 270+ Electoral votes - you win?
Is that the quirk?
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Budwick The quirk that allows a president to be elected by a significant minority of people in the nation. That's a quirk in anyone's book.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@windinhishair Windy, your snooty tone sounds like your smart.

I wonder if you are smart enough to know why we have the electoral college and that it worked and that small minded piss ants can't get over it?
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Budwick I know full well why the Electoral College exists, Jack. Democracy doesn't work well when a minority of small minded assholes are in charge of the government and refuse the will of the people.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@windinhishair Uhmm, I don't recall the those words within the Amendment.

But, the small minded assholes are currently in charge of the House - so, you got that going for ya!
windinhishair · 61-69, M
[@Buttwipe] Missed the part about government of the people, by the people, for the people, did ya, Jack? Not surprising. Trumpettes don't believe in that aspect of government. Well, maybe for white people, but not everyone.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@windinhishair You are not sounding smart anymore,
just so ya know.

OK, so here we go - the Electoral College is a racial thing now?

Oh boy, it's like playing Twister online with you morons.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
[@Buttwipe] Not what I said, Jack. Work on your reading comprehension. The Electoral College will periodically give quirky results that do not reflect the will of the people. You may think it works perfectly, but that's only because it works to your advantage. This time. But no matter how you want to fudge the numbers, your leader is a leader of a minority of Americans, not the majority, and he will never be the leader of other than a vocal minority of mostly white, aged men.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@windinhishair
mostly white, aged men.
And there it is!
Your racism - again.
Your ageism again.

Hey wait, you're just as old as me!

It's true that the Electoral votes sometimes don't match with popular voting. But then ,that wasn't the goal of the electoral college - was it? The Electoral system is a mechanism that protects liberty and federalism from mob rule. [You are in the mob.]
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Budwick So to point out facts about the radical minority is to be racist and ageist? Oh, that's right, Jack, you don't do facts.

The Electoral College is a flawed mechanism that should be abolished. It won't exist in 20 years once enough states adopt legislation that provides for electoral votes in the states to go to the popular vote winner. States with close to 200 electoral votes have already passed such legislation. One person, one vote--you've heard of that, right? But you are right--sometimes the Electoral College doesn't match the popular vote, and that's a quirk of the system. Trump was elected by a quirk.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@windinhishair
the radical minority is to be racist and ageist
No Windy, not the radical minority - YOU!
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Budwick Actually, we're in the majority. That makes you the radical minority.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@windinhishair
And so AGAIN I say, not the radical minority - YOU!
YOU are the problem.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@windinhishair Bud is a bit off. You have to excuse him.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Zonuss Bud/Jack has always been a bit off. Like the crazy uncle that visits for Thanksgiving.
monte3 · 70-79, M
Excellent point! @lorne13
