How many more ass whippings can the Orange Moron stomach?

Pelosi owned him. Bigly.

To be fair, Pelosi was kinda being a dumbass. She knew what the problem was, but acted like it was irrelevant. Her thing about "setting the tone" for a budget getting passed sounds like political fluff, considering that the both of them would have to work together. She should have addressed the specific issues over which the GOP and DNC disagree.

@BlueVeins I agree. But neither have the necessary skills to debate
@BlueVeins Why, so he could keep cutting her off and interrupting ? He was the “dumbarse”, as usual.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@bijouxbroussard How about so they could have a legitimate conversation about legislation instead of just talking past each other all night? Trump is rude, foolish, and dishonest, but at least he frequently addresses issues head-on.
@BlueVeins Only to lie about the issues, insult people, lay often unwarranted blame and brag about himself. How is that helpful ? 😳
BlueVeins · 22-25
@bijouxbroussard Maybe she'd be pleasantly surprised. Trump's not great, but we've seen him act mature before. He's a liar, but that's not all he is. At least attempting to engage him in an actual discussion will invariably have better results than just ignoring a legitimate point he has to make. If nothing else, her hands will be clean of blame.
@BlueVeins The only surprises with Trump are that people continue to make excuses for him. Which people will somehow find a way to do regardless of his proven track record. If there’s any possible low road, Trump will find it.

@BlueVeins You don't keep dealing with a person who has shown themselves to be a pathological liar about everything. The time for his comeuppance is nigh.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@daisymay It's fair for them to have their disagreements, but Pelosi and Trump are ultimately coworkers, and have to work together to run this country. Keeping the cogs of government spinning will require their cooperation. I'm every bit as vengeful as your average American, but if this budget doesn't pass, the "comeuppance" will fall on the shoulders of hundreds of thousands of hardworking men and women, employed by the state to keep this country clean and safe.

@bijouxbroussard Trump has been shown capable of maturity in times like these. He's negotiated several of these budgets before since 2016, and although I don't necessarily agree with all of the particulars of his policies, his manifestos on trade, nuclear security, and health care have been clear and concise.

Trump is fully capable of seeing reason and even behaving effectively as a politician. He often chooses not to, but he's not reliably shitty enough for us to immediately abandon hope.
@BlueVeins So blame Trump. He’s the “boss”, as he likes to point out. He certainly doesn’t see Pelosi as an equal so the onus is on him to set the tone. For all his negotiations in the private sector, there were a fair amount of failures and even bankruptcies. So he’s not infallible on any level, even though he thinks he is. And the “little people” who stand to lose out ? Trump couldn’t care less. “Immediately” ? This is two years in. Not to mention 40+ years in the public eye. If you don’t know who this man is by now, you haven’t been paying attention. He’s not changing—he doesn’t get that he’s the problem.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@bijouxbroussard The President is not the boss of the country; he's one branch of the legislative. In order to get shit done, he has to negotiate with the other two branches, which he was at least ostensibly attempting to do. And yeah, I'd wager to say that Trump doesn't care taht much about the American people, but he cares abou thow he's percieved by the American people. Trump has sacrificed the wall to avoid causing a government shutdown because he knew at the time that causing a government shutdown when his party was in control of all three branches was political suicide.

And by the way, it's not like Pelosi is necessarily innocent in all this. Government shutdown is kinda like a game of chicken, with both parties negotiating against each other, with a mutual deterrent that neither side wants to be blamed for. By denying funding for the wall, the DNC used that deterrent, and in so doing, participated in the game.

I'm not saying that he'll change-- I'm saying he was never too stubborn to attempt negotiations with, and not trying guarantees failure.

@BlueVeins
The President is not the boss of the country
Brilliant. Maybe try telling him that?
@BlueVeins Trump’s announced that he will shut down the government—indicating an intention to do so—if he doesn’t get his way. This after saying in 2012, “The president’s the leader...he’s got to get everyone in the room and lead. A shutdown means the president’s weak.”
He’s not that worried about how he’s perceived. He will TELL you that everyone loves him. And Trump believes the president is in charge—he’s said so. That’s why even after criticizing his predecessor for signing executive orders, he began his presidency signing them like grocery coupons, even though he had the full support of the GOP behind him.
