Sad thing is she's the more 'acceptable' element within it.
There are several.....loathsome possible alternates just chomping at the bit and foaming at the mouth to take her place.

@Picklebobble2 This is true, but they still face the same problem they did 3 years ago, they need to get approval by the parliamentary party first.

@SW-User All comes down to what Cameron SHOULD have done in the first place and that's kick the Remainers off the front bench.
If you can't present a united front to the House of Commons, how in the hell do you present it to the people you represent let alone a beast like the E:U ???

@Picklebobble2 Cameron campaigned for remain then ran away when he lost. Much as I think he's an idiot, he can hardly be blamed that his chums didn't follow him. I think history will describe him as one of our worst PMs.

@SW-User I think May is stiff competition for that award now. How could she have done worse in this process?

@Burnley123 Good point. I think with hindsight she might get the benefit of the doubt for being dealt a losing hand.

@Burnley123 I think, in trying to placate many within her backbenches she tried to be as 'agreeable' as she could to all sides rather than being strong. Seen as a leader happy to represent her country and those within it.
May not have cut much ice with some but at least everybody would have seen what she was trying to do.
