@QuixoticSoul by living here they use our resources, one of which is housing. They compete with our citizens on their economic level for that part of the market, they cost people a livelihood and thus money.
@MarmeeMarch Actually yes. That’s their endgame here - apply for asylum, get released with a work permit while the case goes through the courts, and either stay here for good, or go back with a couple of years of us wages in their pockets.
How are you so outraged by this stuff, and yet don’t even understand what they’re trying to do here?
@Jackaloftheazuresand Illegal immigrants also generate profits for those that employ them and purchase stuff from US businesses. They pay sales taxes, and many pay income taxes as well (and never get refunds).
Every time we study this stuff, it comes out that illegal immigrants are a net gain.
I don’t support illegal immigration, but saying they’re costing us taxpayer money just doesn’t wash.
@QuixoticSoul And others don't. If it was a net gain in actuality and not just some projection of one area then the governments of the world would be taking more.
@Jackaloftheazuresand Just because Illegal immigrants aren’t a drain on our tax coffers doesn’t mean that we need to open our borders or have unrestricted immigration. It just means people need to stop whining about their tax dollars when it comes to this topic.
