Please tell me why you actually hate Trump.

He made us ridiculous and squandered much of the soft power that we spent almost a century building. Him presiding over the tail end of a historic economic expansion doesn't change that. The damage he's done is long lasting, and we'll reap it for generations.

It's funny. I honestly would be thoroughly "meh" if we had another republican president doing much of the same stuff Trump is doing. Tax cuts, deficits, trying to gut social services, pushing their equally irrelevant social nonsense, etc - all of that is just background America, and has always been there anyway, the constant ebb and flow. I'm fairly in the center politically, and largely isolated from presidential policy so whatever.

But Trump violated the single real characteristic of US presidency that's always been definitive for me, and it's something I never even realized was there - being an adult. Turns out, that matters.
