Be fun watching you try and spin your way out of this one.

@Picklebobble2 how so? I think his point was Hilary Clinton and her email server.

@Scubaguy027 Yes, exactly. Would you like some videos from every single Trump election rally? How about the RNC convention? Lock her up, lock her up, lock her up? Ring a bell?
Scubaguy027 · 46-50, M
@Northwest I know, I remember all of it. Personally I think anyone in a government position using a personal email for government business is a moron.

Today, the answer would be yes. Especially when it comes from the daughter of, and advise to the President, who ran the lock her up campaign.

The fact is, the government was ill equipped, to deal with technology, up until fairly recently, and I’m not sure they’re there yet.

Specifically, the subject of email is even more complicated, a combination of a technology, that exploded in recent years, but must remain in line, with 240 year old document.

Not to mention the cluster f’of a situation, when anyone, at the time, can send a email to the official email address, due to transparency rules. As a Sec of State, at the time, there was no clear path for Hillary to take. I would be more than happy to go through it in detail, but...

@Northwest this is something we will mostly disagree on. I say this based on my experience with the DoD and having a clearance and knowing what my rules and restrictions were in comparison to what the White House and various Secretaries have. I do see your point though.
@Picklebobble2 you mean the same thing cuntary spun?

@Northwest I dunno man, ‘08 was not the dark ages. I suspect she just didn’t want to give up the convenience, and what was probably a massive database of contacts, previous emails, rules for managing the incoming flow, etc.

Same reason for Ivanka too, I bet. Laziness and pain-avoidance at the core.

@QuixoticSoul My comment was not related to the state of the art of technology. We had iPhones in '08. It's about the procedures, and what to do with email (wanted, unwanted, junk, etc), and how do you limit access to direct email, to government officials, how do you balance the public's need to contact government officials, with the potential of flooding mailboxes, to the point where an official has no clue how to dig out and function.

This is why, in '08, and prior, used private email addresses, they handed only to a small group of people. Hillary's advisors, actually thought they were protecting her email, by doing a physical server for her, and protecting it.

It's procedure, rather than technology and security. She did explain that, at one point, but of course it never made the big time news, because she did not want to draw attention to it, and the Trump, of course, had their alternative theory.

I don't know why Ivanka did it, but she's a Trump, so different rules apply to them.
