No we cannot constantly have re-do's because we didn't like the result
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@SW-User Do you like the result? What part of May's deal makes Britain better?
SW-User
Because the deal is not good enough is not grounds for a new vote. The deal won't make it through parliament and will need a quick fix or we will leave without.

I voted remain btw
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@SW-User So did I and I've been against a second referendum for a long time but nobody can convince me that this is a good deal and I don't think we can get a good deal. 52% would not vote for this.
SW-User
The question was yes or no. We voted as a nation and that majority must be respected.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@SW-User The majority wanted 350 million to the NHS, taking back control and ending immigration. This does non of that... and no deal we could negotiate would either.
SW-User
@Burnley123 That's not the point. The vote was leave, and leave we should.
SW-User
The majority voted yes.

The poor deal does not change that retrospectively.

This deal will not stand. It will be replaced or we will leave with no deal at the deadline
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@SW-User No deal would make the ERM crash, the winter of discontent or the 2007/08 recessions look minor. We can't get a better deal because our negotiating position is weak.
SW-User
@Burnley123 I think that's a tad over dramatic.

No deal hurts the Euro state more than us
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@SW-User?????

They have five times our economic power. Do you really think that such a bad deal would have been decided if we had more power?

One of the problems May had is overestimating her power.
SW-User
@Burnley123 how are you measuring this 5 times power?

We got a poor deal because we negotiated poorly. The Euro state was never going to make this easy otherwise it knows other nations will follow.
@Burnley123 yeah the EU is really holding a loaded gun to Britains head while it defends itself with a rusted butter knife. It's not pretty. and The EU Is hard pressed to make Britain PAY for leaving. They want revenge. and I can't blame them.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@BetweenKittensandRiots Yes and they want to put off people from leaving. They know what Le Pen or the Liga Nord would say if Brexit was a success.
MartinII · 70-79, M
@Burnley123 Completely wrong, in my opinion. The mistake the government made was underestimating their power. Instead of going cap in hand to the EC, we should have told Brussels that we were perfectly happy to leave without a deal, and if they wanted one they had to make it worth our while. The result would have been a much better deal than the one we now have.
@Burnley123 No shit. La Pen would go nuts. I'm concerned about elections in france to be honest with you. Marcon is a much better president than Trump but to be honest he's privatizing a lot of things and taking away power from unions etc in france and he's polarizing everyone on the left against him. For the left it was like having to choose between a turd sandwich and a gigantic douche in the election and I guess they went with the lesser of two evils. But That could open the door in time to La Pen.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@MartinII David Davis and Dominic Raab have been the negotiators. Both are Brexiteers and neither was able to get a better deal than this.
MartinII · 70-79, M
@Burnley123 I don’t think either had much say, Davis because he was not up to the job, Raab because he arrived too late. The negotiating approach was set by May and her civil service advisers.

Merkel suffers another election setback in key German state of Hesse

Just recently. Shit is getting popcorn worthy. The Center is collapsing.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@MartinII What deal would have been acceptable to you that you think the EU would agree to? @SW-User
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/11/16/german-green-party-comes-within-spitting-distance-merkel-new/ German Green Party's surge in support leaves them just behind Merkel, shock new poll shows
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@BetweenKittensandRiots Yes agreed but sometimes the left should not want the centre to collapse, especially on Germany where the left is weak and the AFD is rising.
Budwick · 70-79, M
I don't live there, so take that into account.\

But, what was wrong with the first time the people voted on it?
The courts tried the same BS in the USA when people voted that marriage is between a man and woman. The court said we couldn't do that.
@Burnley123 the greens have been doing better than AFD.
