Why did the federal reserve go from using a .com to a .gov domain since 2016?

That site is actually the website of the “board of governors of the federal reserve system” - which actually is a federal agency, and it makes sense they’d use the .gov suffix.

The Federal Reserve System has its own site - with a .org suffix.
