So...protecting an investor-owned, publicly traded corporation from possibly warranted lawsuits against them is communist?
You didn't think this out, did you?

That’s literally the opposite of your title lmao. Straight crony capitalism.
And yeah, fuck PG&E.

@QuixoticSoul Conservatives are pretty stupid.

@QuixoticSoul I was going to say--this is the opposite of what you'd expect from my "hippie dippy" state. It's a crony capitalist move for sure. Again we see this situation where a strong wind blows through one day and multiple simultaneous fires start up throughout the state. And power-lines are often the cause. PG&E has been occasionally shutting off power during the worst conditions to prevent their lines from starting fires, but evidently that failed here with the Camp Fire.
The fact is that "commie" doesn't mean "communist" in this instance, it just means "people I disagree with". Useless descriptor.

@daisymay I'm finding that states rights' is only a valid argument if the state is a red state.
CopperCicada · M
@daisymay It's curious.
The argument for "states rights" and anti-federalism seems to only apply if one is opposing anti-discrimination laws... such as refusing to bake a gay couple a cake, or marrying a gay couple. Or resisting Medicare expansion. Or Obamacare.
But argue "states rights" in terms of weed or providing sanctuary and you deserve to lose all federal support and protection because of "not following the law".

Do you understand either capitalism or communism? 🙄
CopperCicada · M
@Graylight or California which is hardly uniformly left leaning.

@CopperCicada No idea. Seriously, I'm not sure what he's on about. He'll just refuse to elaborate, anyway, so all we really have is conjecture.

@daisymay What's weird to me is how monolithic people in red areas seem to regard California. Like it's all like the Tenderloin, Folsom Street Fair, and Haight.

Oh jeez. Washinngton needs to make following federal law a part of EVERY financial assistance. Now, it's hit and miss.
