Why is President Trump so afraid of a free press?

@hippyjoe1955 You know. Seeing the quality of what passes for journalism in the Media in America I could almost take your side on this one. If only the White House had not faked up that video and had Huckabee promote it.

@whowasthatmaskedman Video was not faked. Reporting of it was faked. Acosta should have lost his press pass for that nonsense. Ask a question. Give the mic to someone else. Hogging the mic and preventing a staffer from passing the mic to someone else will get you banned. I hope Acosta and the rest of media gets the message. They are not the message and when they start making the news instead of reporting it they are no longer the press.

@whowasthatmaskedman Again fake news. The video I saw live was not doctored in anyway. Acosta moved to prevent the girl from taking the mic including pushing her hand/arm away. He should have lost his pass for that behavior.

@hippyjoe1955 A journalists job is to ask tough questions. That’s what Acosta was doing and Trump did not like that. I mean if you are going to state a claim, such as “the caravan is an invasion” as Trump stated, you better have a reasonable answer to back that claim when questioned and Trump did not want to. All he had to do was answer the question and Acosta wouldn’t have hogged the microphone.

As for manhandling, in the video it appears the intern was the one manhandling for the mic, Acosta didn’t even know she was sneaking up on him to begin with.

With Trump threatning to ban more journalists from the White House, I don’t know about that.

@SW-User Did you listen to Acosta. He was sermonizing not asking questions. Then he played mic hog so no one else could ask question.

@SW-User And then launched into a sermon rather than accept the president's answer as being the president's answer. He had more questions asked and answered than anyone else and still played a mic hog. He should be banned for that kind of nonsense. The freedom of the press to ask questions of the president was under threat by Acosta not the President.

@SW-User No. The ones who hog the mike and won't let any one else ask a question should be removed from polite company. Most do and it makes for an informed public. In truth no one cares what Acosta thinks. He is an ego with few brains.

@SW-User I certainly care. I want to have real questions asked of the president not listen to Acosta's opinions. If the president has an hour and a half and Acosta takes 20 minutes that really cuts into intelligent questions by others. Acosta's questions amounted to little more than 'have you stopped beating your wife yet'.
