Acosta didn’t do anything wrong except ask a question Trump refused to answer. Instead of Trump acting like an adult and doing his job, he decides act like a brat. Pacing back and forth from the podium, telling the journalists to stop talking and sit down, etc.

If we have to go this route and wish for journalists to be fired just for upsetting a president with a simple yes or no question, then why have free press at all?

Sadly, your characterization is wrong. Thr video shows Acosta to be a complete jackass. @SW-User

@jackjjackson
Well, here is the whole video. The characterization of how Trump acted is included.

@SW-User My God...he did NOT ASK A QUESTION! Do you understand spoken English? If I say "I'd like to challenge you" on something that is NOT "asking a question" it is the beginning of an ARGUMENT and they were not here for that.
AnneHoney · 36-40, F
They are not there to debate or score points for the opposition. Nor to increase their ratings. They ask a question and let there viewers hear the answer and decide what it. Means.@SW-User

@AnneHoney Hopeless to try and educate someone who is barely semi-literate, as is the case with @autumnidiot. Besides as you know people like her and that creep Acosta are not interested in people's honest answers but just wish to score points with their "When did you stop beating your wife?" style questions.
SW-User
@Abrienda Acosta did you dumbass. You can watch the whole video on Youtube.
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@SW-User Look bitch the only dumbass here is the one of us who does not know Acosta was not there as a reporter but as a provocateur (sorry that's French so it will be a difficult word for you to understand since I see you are only semi-literate in ENGLISH) who is only interested in scoring political points for his friends in the "Resistance". Maybe in your Leftist bubble CNN counts as a "news organization" but it is as much one as Pravda was under the former Soviet Union (I know another foreign word when you can barely read English sorry just Google it).

So why don't you just run along, put on your ANTIFA bandana and go terrorize the wife and children of someone you disagree with at their home, okay?

@Abrienda

Here is the transcript. Those in bold are questions Acosta attempted to ask Trump. He couldn’t finish because Trump kept cutting him off.

Acosta: Do you think you demonized immigrants to try to keep...

Trump: No, I want them to come into the country. But they have to come in legally. Through a process. I want it to be a process. And I want people to come in. And we need the people. Wait, wait. You know why we need the people? Because we have hundreds of companies move in. We need to people.

Acosta: Your campaign had an ad showing migrants climbing over walls and so on...

Trump: That's true. They were not actors. It is true. Do you think that they were actors? They did not come from Hollywood. These were people, this was an actual -- it happened a few days ago and...

Acosta: They are hundreds of miles away. That is not an invasion.

Trump: Honestly I think that you should let me run the country. You run CNN. And if you did it well, your ratings will be much higher.

Acosta: If I may ask one other question.

Trump: That's enough.

Acosta: The other folks asked, pardon me, ma'am...

An unidentified woman attempted to reach for the mic from Acosta.

Trump: That's enough.

Acosta: If I can ask on the Russian investigation. Are you concerned that you may have...

Trump: I am not concerned about anything with the Russian investigation because it is a hoax. That is enough, put down the mic.

Acosta: Mr. President.

Trump: I tell you what, CNN should be ashamed of themselves having you working for them. You are rude, terrible person. You should not be working for CNN. Go ahead. You are a very rude person, the way that you treat Sarah Huckabee Sanders is horrible. The way that you treat other people is horrible. You should not treat people that way.

Trump then called on another reporter, Peter Alexander
——————————————-
So how in the hell are the questions Acosta attempted to ask Trump in bold not questions?
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@SW-User Thank you...you just proved my point that this man is not a reporter seeking truth but by the very way he framed the questions in the "When did you stop beating your wife" mode of "journalist" shows he is a partisan hack, Sadly you are too uneducated to understand the difference between the two or acknowledge his obscene bias which doesn't upset you and are okay with because it happens to be YOUR bias.

Again thank you for helping me make my point.
SW-User
@Abrienda Actually you proved mine. First you stated Acosta wasn’t asking questions but after I showed you the transcript now you’re saying he framed the questions. You can read the transcipt again where the question are in bold.
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@SW-User 🤭 No you're through but as I wrote you are semi-literate so of course do not know it. There are on line course you could take to help you with that since your mental/emotional condition does not allow you to go out in public often long enough to take classes in an academic setting. Besides it would be embarrassing for you to be reminded how uneducated and foolish you are every time you open your mouth to say something.

Anyway stick to your schedule of psychotropic medication/s and good luck. You need both.
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@SW-User You really ARE stupid aren't you? Because it has a question mark at the end does NOT make it a real question as the example I gave shows. Also when Acosta says "I want to CHALLENGE you..." that is NOT a question but just what the word means ..a CHALLENGE. Can't you get that through your thick head? It is not "The Jim Acosta Show" but a White House press conference where re[porters ask QUESTIONS not issue CHALLENGES .... got it? And since you also seem okay with him strong arming a 21 year old woman as well I guess that says something about you, too.
SW-User
@Abrienda Not my fault. No need to continue the debate. You have proved to me you are a dumbass.
Because it has a question mark at the end doesn’t make it a question
Dumbass it’s still a question.

If it’s not a question then it’s turns into a statement.

A question can start off with:

Do you....

What about...

How about...

Are you..

This is the same format Acosta used when asking a question.

Some types of questions that may be used in an educational context are listed in Bloom's Taxonomy of educational objectives. These include questions designed to test and promote:

Knowledge: Who, what, when, where, why, how . . . ? Describe . . . ?

Comprehension: Retell . . .
Application: How is . . . an example of . . . ?; How is . . . related to . . . ?; Why is . . . significant?

Analysis: What are the parts or features of . . . ? Classify . . . according to . . . ;

Synthesis: What would you infer from . . . ? What ideas can you add to . . . ? How would you design a new . . . ? What would happen if you combined . . . ? What solutions would you suggest for . . . ?

Evaluation: Do you agree that . . . ? What do you think about . . . ? What is the most important . . . ? Place the following in order of priority . . . ? How would you decide about . . . ? What criteria would you use to assess . . . ?

@Abrienda The principal use of questions is to elicit information from the person being addressed by indicating the information which the speaker (or writer) desires [2]. However, questions can also be used for a number of other purposes. Questions may be asked for the purpose of testing someone's knowledge, as in a quiz or examination. These are termed display questions [3]. Raising a question may guide the questioner along an avenue of research

A research question is an interrogative statement that manifests the objective or line of scholarly or scientific inquiry designed to address a specific gap in knowledge. Research questions are expressed in a language that is appropriate for the academic community that has the greatest interest in answers that would address said gap. These interrogative statements serve as launching points for the academic pursuit of new knowledge by directing and delimiting an investigation of a topic, a set of studies, or an entire program of research.

A rhetorical question is asked to make a point, and does not expect an answer (often the answer is implied or obvious). As such, it is not a true question. Similarly, requests for things other than information, as with "Would you pass the salt?" are interrogative in form, but are not true questions.

Pre-suppositional or loaded questions, such as "Have you stopped beating your wife?" may be used as a joke or to embarrass an audience, because any answer a person could give would imply more information than he was willing to affirm.
