Trump "knows trade wars"

Soybean sales to China are down 94% from last year die to steep tariffs. China's merely buying them for less expensive sources now while the US farmers - the ones Trump promised to protect and elevate - are being screwed.

Is this really winning?

It's not that important. The Trump administration is all over it.

Sonny Perdue, secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, announced (July 23, 2018) the government would use the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC), established during the Great Depression nearly a century ago, to provide $12B to compensate farmers for an estimated $11B in losses due to the trade wars.

But as long as it's not taxation, to provide welfare, it's all cool. Winning.

But all those farmers got some big, fat welfare checks. They didn't even need to pee in a cup to get them!
