Corporate profits vs. wages

So the next time you hear a Trump supporter doing some chest thumping about the great economy...
This is through Q2 and compares corporate profits after taxes and real wages.
I know some won't believe the words about what the 'tax break' was REALLY all about.
Maybe pictures will help.

What??? Corporations didn't hand over that tax break money to their employees???

I am SHOCKED 🤣
Ynotisay · M
@Pherick I'm surprised too. I thought THIS was the time trickle down would happen. I mean, the corporations PROMISED, right?

It's almost as if supply side economics doesn't work and actively harms the lower classes.

Yes.. But what about Hillarys emails? Now get out there and VOTE Damn you!!
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Ynotisay Penn & Teller could base a series on what Trump is doing.

@whowasthatmaskedman And the show's theme song can be, "Ironic" by Alanis Morissette.

Doesn’t exactly require a “spoiler alert” does it? :|

The economy IS great...if you own a share in a major corporation. If you're just a worker...
patkaren1717 · 41-45, M
If you don"t like the wages you make go some where else to work.

@patkaren1717 Scary to know you're out there

@patkaren1717
really think that you live in a dream world if you think Corporations are going to give there employees the money instead of there Stock Holders who invest in the Corporation.
No, that is the standard expectation. It’s the trickle down folks that live in a dream world, because the expect this to work backwards.
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
@patkaren1717 Okay, well where's the magic "Make a job that pays me better" fairy? Because that's the rules right?

@LvChris I didn't think you were, honestly. But the argument these products could even be provided by US workers is flying in the face of reality. We don't have those kinds of refining facilities or the work forces to man them, nor do we want them. Heavy industry is the reason the groundwater is poison in the Midwest, we don't want to bring that back even worse.

@LvChris Yeah, I'm afraid those folk may be lost causes. Those lead poisoning and cancer rates in the Midwest are horrifying, I've lost multiple family members to it and when my mom and grandma have gone back to attend the funerals they mentioned it's absolutely everywhere. Almost like it's just normal day to day now that people are developing terminal brain cancers all the time, even at young ages. Two of the people in my family were a father and son, both to brain cancer. First the son, then the father three years later. That shit is really bad.
