Trump is warning that the refugees are a "national emergency for the US". What he means is that he's scared that the US will have to be compassionate to others who have left their countries due to violence. In the new American Only, there is no room for those who need help.

The whole world is watching to see if the US has finally lost all of those things that made us a beacon of hope in the world.

@windinhishair it needs to be organized and not forced on. How about I don’t have a place to live and come force my way into your house. And make you give me money and feed me? And I bring my brothers and sisters and cousins.. we will move in with you.

@SW-User It should be organized, and refugees should go through the refugee process.

But your analogy is flawed. It isn't like every family in the US has to have people move in with them. It is more like people who already have what they need and live in the best and wealthiest country on earth contributing $1.57 each to help others in real need.

@windinhishair No it is the same thing when they are coming in a group like this and forcing there way into our country I don’t agree with it, when my great grandparents came from Europe they saved there money and came legally into the country... and coming into the country so more welfare and trying to find places for these people. We barely take care of our own people and our veterans. When our country can start taking better care of our own problems then we can open the door...

@SW-User These people are coming as refugees. We have policies and procedures to deal with refugees, which we should follow.

I agree with you totally that we need to do a better job of taking care of our own poor and veterans. Talk to your Republican friends who want to take services away that help our own, to help millionaires and billionaires instead. We still have the largesse to help others in need at the same time. Legal immigrants are a net positive on the US economy, not a negative, so there is little drain on the economy.

The real issue is whether we have any compassion for others any more.

@windinhishair I have compassion and so do the republicans, and democrats aren’t any better look at Obama care the pharmaceutical company’s have loved him ever sense.. so don’t even go there. Look all the trouble in Europe right now with there refugees, mugging, stealing, rapes it’s all on the rise.. We can discuss this all day and you won’t convince me to see this your way.. I would stop this before they got to the boarder.

@windinhishair They aren't really refugees. They aren't fleeing government persecution or things like that.

@SW-User @MethDozer They are clearly refugees, whether it is from a nation or violence within a nation. We have a moral obligation to help others when we can. This is one such instance. To turn our back on others in a time of need, when we have the ability to help, is a moral failure. And the failure this time is squarely on the Republicans and those who support them. Shame.
