The ones in charge right now sure seem to be. And they can stop pretending there is any connection between the 21st century’s GOP and the Republican Party before the 1960s. “Southern Strategy” changed all that forever.
@GunSmoke9 Read up on Southern Strategy. The old Dixiecrats went running to the Republican Party when blacks started joining the Democrats and labor unions in droves after the Civil Rights movement. That’s exactly who’s running your party now. You can no longer rest on those laurels of the past. The KKK are Republicans in 2018, and Trump has welcomed them with open arms.

@GunSmoke9 Yes, and it has been since Obama. But racist Trump is taking credit, and his racist supporters believe him. Black unemployment peaked at 16.6 percent in April 2010, when Obama was president. It then fell by more than half to 7.8 percent by the time Obama left office in January 2017.
The momentum simply continued. But Obama had turned things around.

@bijouxbroussard The democrat party, not all democrats. He's talking about the extremists in the democrat party. Maxine Waters. Now Hillary saying we can't be civil to Republicans. Antifa threatening citizens in Portland, while cops do nothing. So where is he wrong?
@GunSmoke9 Antifa didn’t even become Involved in American politics until 2017, and they haven’t killed anyone here. The KKK’s been involved in the U.S. for almost 150 years and have killed thousands of men, women and children since its inception. Not just black people either, lest that not concern you. Heather Heyer was one of the victims during their march in Charlottesville last year. Trump said they were “fine people”, too. He saved his name-calling and contempt for non-violent protestors—like Colin Kaepernik and the NFL players—where nobody was injured or died. And if you’d actually read what Maxine Waters had to say, rather than just taking your ”orange Messiah’s” word, she was telling people to call those representing Trump out on their lies, which we have every right to do. First Amendment, remember ? But there’s a big difference between that and telling supporters to “knock out” people who disagree, which is what Trump did, remember ? Trump is the only one who has ever incited violence. And he’s still doing it, during his rallies where he demonizes anyone who isn’t a supporter.

Because the KKK was violent does that make what Antifa is doing right? Antifa are fascist thugs, who use violence, threats, intimidation to push their radical agenda. You believe in the first amendment? I do, Antifa doesn't. I heard what Maxine Waters said not from my orange messiah which he isn't. Try to remember that. So she has first amendment rights, but not Trump? The first amendment has to do with government not stopping free speech. There are other better ways to call people out then screaming at them at restaurants, gas stations ect. That leads to civil unrest then violence. Is that what you really want? I don't. Trump goes after those who are not his supporters, wow really? Hillary calling those not supporting her deplorables, now calling for civil unrest. Where is this all heading? If the left keeps it up there won't be a blue wave. Americans will put up with peaceful protests, but not violence, threats. You want to blame Trump for the unrest. Clearly that is so for you, because I've never said "ALL" Republicans are racist. I'd have no Republican friends if they were. But not all Republicans support Trump, either. The people who do are supporting a racist, and a racist is currently president. I'm not backing down from that statement because Trump keeps proving it. Maxine Waters is not the president, nor is Hillary Clinton. Trump is supposed to be setting an example and trying to unite the people, not inciting violence with his rallies. Trump and his divisive rhetoric is the reason for the increase in hate crimes and the emboldened white supremacists. And Trump is the one who has said he believes the KKK are "fine people" while non-violent protestors like those "taking a knee" are "sons of b*tches". So any civil unrest will be squarely at Trump's feet and Trump's doing.

@bijouxbroussard Trump should cut down on some of his rhetoric, and some will use his words to act violently. If you have trouble with Trump, then you should also have trouble with what powerful democrats are saying. If not it proves you are a hypocrite. They are doing the same thing that you accuse Trump of doing, using dangerous rhetoric to gin up their base. Why can't leading democrats also set a good example? You can't blame Trump for what Antifa and others are doing. No matter what Trump says that doesn't give the crazies on the left the right to use violence, threats, intimidation. Of course you will never speak out against the violence from the left. Why not?
