@AnneHoney Cute. No, I don't see him running as a democrat, and I doubt the Republicans will regain their party by 2020, but that might be in the back of his mind.

My gut feeling is he wants to vote for Cavenaugh in the end, though.

He is definitely considering a run.

@AnneHoney 54 would be big, but I never thought this would drag out so long. And I don't think it would have if the Republicans weren't so terrified of backlash, and by that I don't just mean the Cavenaugh circus, but also whatever other shenanigans Trump pulls as well.

I agree the republicans have screwed things up royally. Dems no matter how ridiculous their stance, stick together and are willing to do or say anything to accomplish their goal. A few of the republicans have a streak of honesty to be good politicians. Fortunately Trump doesn’t @MistyCee

@AnneHoney I don't think democrats are all that great about sticking together in general, tbh, but it's a lot easier when they're facing Trump and have Garland on their minds.

Garland was a product of their own previous declaration.

@AnneHoney I hear you, but they don't see it that way, and the back and forth politics on judicial nominations between the parties is ridiculous, especially for lower courts.

The delay strategy seems to have backfired on the Dems. Every day that goes has produced further doubts about the accusers and filling in the narrative that Kavanaugh was a typical preparer and frat guy who skewed his wild oats grew up and has done good things for thirty years. Flake was a genius to allow the time for this to unfold. We are going to see 100 % of republicans voting yes and at least two democrats. @AnneHoney @MistyCee
