I now understand the whole thing. The Trump election. The acceptance of his transparent lies, the turn outs at his meetings. The fear in the Republican house. The rabid support for the Supreme court nominee. The diversion and denial of his Fubars so far and the stories of his "winning". I finally get it.. And the good news, is that the rest of the word has little to worry about . This could only happen in America.
America is a deeply religious nation, and Trump is the Messiah to these people. They don't need logic, facts or proof. They have "faith". And as long as they keep it, he will deliver them to the promised land, by and by. Right now he is doing the miracle of the loaves and fishes, fresh back from his water into wine gig.
The point is. There is no point talking logically about the existence of God or evolution to a religious fanatic who is headed for paradise. They have faith in the face of any amount of evidence based on real facts and anyone else with a different view is a heretic or a False Profit. These people are right , because they have faith.
