Why doesnt the Senate Judiciary Committee simply subpoena Dr. Ford?

There's no real reason why they should. The Republicans are happy if she doesn't show up, and no one wants to bully her, really, although, obviously, they will have to when she testifies. If she shows up only under subpoena, it's worse.
