Is Chelsea Clinton really this stupid?

"Opposing abortion is Un-Christian" uh no I don't think it is.

Anti-abortion people are not really pro-life. They use their rhetoric as a way to enforce a sexlife they deem appropriate.
The pope is against contraception. You guys here are against abortion. When you put the 2 together it's a no-brainer. The message is, sex should only happen when a heterosexual married couple intend to procreate. It's their way to say "you have been promiscuous. We're gonna punish you by making you have this baby against your will. That will also send a message to all the sexually depraved out there". That's really what they are after. It's not about pro-life philosophy. If they really cared about life we wouldn't have the death penalty mostly in religious states. For, it's said not to take a life you cannot create. Think again. Are you really pro-life?

@eMortal There is also a substantial difference between making a negative behavior illegal and stopping the behavior.

In American society we do a great deal to criminalize things but little to stop damaging behavior.

The abortion rate per capita is less now than it was the year before Roe (illegal backroom abortions). They key to actually *stopping* abortion, not just criminalizing it, rests in what happened to the lives of women in the generations after Roe and why.

The irony is that educating, capitalizing, and empowering women is what caused the abortion rate per capita to drop even with legal access to abortion through Roe... and often the most vocal prolife voices are the most vocal critics of those things.

So yes. Are we pro-life? Or as I'd phrase it... do we want to stop abortion or just make it illegal?
