Not so sure - Australia has an ability to appear particularly amateurish when it comes to Politics, though I appreciate the UK is trying it’s best to compete and the yanks have good old Trump ;)@Shutterbug

Something to do with proportional representation- so one state isn’t constantly choosing the president!
Half the problem is that people who don’t support trump don’t make good arguments against him which makes other people support him all the more!! Hence extremes on both sides and someone else’s excellent reference to ‘1930’s’!!@GeistInTheMachine
