Burkina ban

In France in many towns they are banning the burkini which is like a full body covering swim suit which also cover the head.
Muslim women like because they are supposed to dress modestly in public so this swim suit allows them to be modest.

The town mayors are banning the burkini saying it might cause offence and the police are patrolling the beaches enforcing the ban.

Should women have a choice of what clothing they wear to the beach or should authorities be allowed to decide what they can or cannot wear?

I don't have a problem with women wearing burkini in Muslim countries. But I don't want it and would not allow it in non-Muslim ones, like the scarf. Because it is not just a piece of cloth. It is a suymbol. It is a way of saying 'we won't take your culture and rules, we will impose ours'. The only right answer to that is 'No, you won't'.

Are you saying that you would dress as they do if you were to travel there? Are you saying that taking away religious freedom is okay? If they do it in their country, does that make it right in other countries?
Are you actually saying that when someone moves into a new country they must give up all their traditions and customs?
So no more St. Patrick's Day parades? No more Polish delis? No more German restaurants?

It depends. Not if those traditions or countries do not clash with those of the hosting country, but if they do, yes.

Sorry, but I guess we will never agree on that. So, let's just agree to disagree.

No problem

What about the orthodox Jews with the beards who go around in the black frock coat and hat? Or the Seeks who wears turban and in the UK they are even allowed not to wear crash hat when riding a motorcycle because you can't wear it over a turban.
Why should we allow those but not the burkini?

@HEREISME: In my opinion the difference is that those are merely religious symbols, but the burkini has political and social implications too. If a woman wears burkini instead of bathing suit or bikini like French women do, the message she is shouting is 'I don't want to integrate, I want you to take my customs'. And accepting burkini, authorities are saying yes to that
