Burkina ban

In France in many towns they are banning the burkini which is like a full body covering swim suit which also cover the head.
Muslim women like because they are supposed to dress modestly in public so this swim suit allows them to be modest.

The town mayors are banning the burkini saying it might cause offence and the police are patrolling the beaches enforcing the ban.

Should women have a choice of what clothing they wear to the beach or should authorities be allowed to decide what they can or cannot wear?

When I go to the beach, I wear whatever I choose. Which is never a bathing suit. Usually shorts and t-shirt. Unless these women are on a private beach, with a dress code, I think it should be their right to dress however they wish. How could anyone be offended by someone who covers up? There are people who must cover up due to being hypersensitive to the sun.
