If there is a blue wave this November won't it make sense for Trump to resign and be pardoned that to be impeached?

If anything less than a landslide reelection or the big, scary "red wave" comes sweeping in, he'll cry foul play, an uneven playing field and the underhanded persecution of his family and his platform. He would, for the rest of his life, bitch and complain about how he was treated unfairly and how no one could see his righteous, infallible wondrousness.

So resignation, I think, is out of the question.

@Graylight There's the growing theory that Russia will really snag the mid terms and may put enough misinformation out to imply they made the Dems win and they were only practicing in 2016..It seems a far fetched thing, but Trump would jump on it (as well as his cult) in a heartbeat...Trump would then no doubt fill his government TV station bitches with getting the word out and maybe even get another commission up to 'investigate' the fraud that may or may not have occurred..After six months it will be quietly forgotten after finding nothing, but the damage will already have been done.

Trump thinks he can pardon himself and be done with it. That would set off a constitutional crisis. Even if the Democrats take the House and impeach him, the Senate won't have the super majority needed to remove him, and the Republicans love Trump more than country, so he'll remain in office.

What he's not counting on is that most of his federal crimes also have state implications, and he cannot pardon himself or be pardoned for crimes in individual states.
Trump and his ego will NEVER resign. Look what he did to his first wife - who tried to divorce him. It's not in his character to ever accept defeat.
