If you have any questions about where Trump's allegiance lies..

"I have great confidence in my intelligence people, but I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today."

He also said he didn't "see any reason why" Russia would be responsible.

That's following a two-hour, closed door meeting. We have NO idea what was discussed. And won't.

And there you go. He just sold us all out on the world stage. The question is why.

Dear god ... How can anyone support him after this????
AlmostAnAngel · 100+, F
@Pherick They still do and always will...denying the insanity of this man.
Ynotisay · M
@Pherick I don't know. I TRULY don't know. Maybe it's because Trump won and that's all they care about? The people who beat their chests about "AMERICA" sure don't seem to walk the walk.
GlitterBug · 22-25, F
@Ynotisay im confused, what has he done that is so awful? From what I’ve seen happen I don’t agree. who would you have liked to see win the election and why?
Pherick · 41-45, M
@GlitterBug He is literally siding with a foreign power against his own intelligent services 🤤

How do you not see how big that is? Then its not even against like the UK or something, its against a LONG TIME enemy of this country????
GlitterBug · 22-25, F
@Pherick it improves chances of an alliance. Not only that, if it is true that Russia had nothing to do with the elections, why should he lie about that? What good would come from accusing a long time enemy of something serious like that?
Pherick · 41-45, M
@GlitterBug Why would you want an alliance with a country that, it has been proven, has tried to meddle in your elections?

What good could come of it? So if a country invaded our country, we should what? Serve them some milk and cookies? Wouldn't want to accuse a long time enemy of something serious like invading you right???
GlitterBug · 22-25, F
@Pherick lol no you make alliances and truces to improve relationships. If world peace is something you’re after compromising with a country you don’t like is the goal. If they’re willing to accept an alliance there won’t be any invasions and if you actually think that you should educate yourself. The good that would come of it is that Russia wouldn’t be seen as a threat-because they are an ally. Aiming fo keep someone an enemy is a recipe for disaster.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@GlitterBug Speaking of educating yourself, perhaps you should try that?

Russia has invaded a sovereign nation, they have backed a regime that we are against and then gave weapons, money, and support to that regime, Russia has influenced our democracy. Russia has killed ex-members of its own agencies who were legal citizens of other allied nations.

There are plenty more things Russia has done .. really sounds like someone who wants to be an ally huh?

Its great that you want world peace, but if you are the only nation who wants it, you are going to be in a world of hurt when you push away REAL allies like NATO and cuddle up to ENEMIES like Russia.
Ynotisay · M
@GlitterBug Are you Russian? Serious question.
GlitterBug · 22-25, F
@Ynotisay nope I’m American, sporting a gun and all. We are not the only country after world peace. Russia could be a powerful ally if done right.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@GlitterBug You should probably get out there and tell Russia that, as Russia has NO interest in being a real ally. They just want to be the world's top superpower, they want our spot.

Seriously, this isn't hard. READ some history, watch current events.
GlitterBug · 22-25, F
@Pherick I do. I know this, thing is we need to have the upper hand. In one way or another something needs to improve with russia or Russia needs to be removed. Find a way to do one if not both.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@GlitterBug Historically Russia only really respects one thing. Strength. You can see it in their history, in their dealing with politics, in their dealings with their own people.

Putin came to power on a wave of "Russia First" rhetoric, that previous politicians had been too much for the West and made Russia "soft".

The only way to make Russia do anything is to make the world help us make Russia do something, we can't force Russia on our own.

So, of course, we now have a President who hurts our ties to our vital allies and cuddles up to Russia. We have a President who sides with Russia OVER his own agencies and people here in the US.

Does that really sound like a plan that could work?
GlitterBug · 22-25, F
@Pherick option A: ignore russia
B: war with Russia C: be buddy buddy and work from the inside of an alliance to shut them down. Answer is obvious. Nothing to do with what Russia is like or what they want
Pherick · 41-45, M
@GlitterBug The obvious part is that you have no idea how world politics really work.

Have a great day.
GlitterBug · 22-25, F
@Pherick That isn’t true. I know well how politics work, its why I know what’s going on and you’re still 12 steps behind.
Ynotisay · M
@GlitterBug You're 18-21. You may THINK you know how politics works but, trust me, you don't. When I was your age, and a cocky college student who thought he knew everything, I still knew enough to shut my mouth and learn. I don't think that would be the worst call for you either. You're communicating with an intelligent man in Pherick. He's being patient. More patient than me. You should appreciate that. He's smarter than you. Live with it. Learn from it.
GlitterBug · 22-25, F
You’ve no idea what my intellectual level is as well as if I am listening or not. I’m posing points and questions that conflict with yours, it’s a good way to learn things, but half of what’s going on in this thread is just incorrect and has been proven so. I’ve been watching the entire thing play out and I understand just fine what is going on. There was no treason committed. Even if you think trump is awful you should be able to tell that. @Ynotisay
Pherick · 41-45, M
@GlitterBug I welcome you then, to post facts that prove things that have been said are incorrect.
Ynotisay · M
@GlitterBug Ah...I get it now. You've been told that you're being persecuted for your beliefs, right? That the liberal elitists are against you? Yeah. I know how that game is played. Manipulation isn't too hard. Fear usually lives at the center.

Last comment to you because it's becoming clear you're a lost cause. You've chosen belief over fact. But this is ROCK SOLID quote by Issac Asimov that rings so very, very true. Might want to consider this one.

“There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.”
GlitterBug · 22-25, F
Incorrect. I’m not told anything because I can think for myself. The left isn’t against me, though I don’t like them. Nothing to do with my beliefs being persecuted or being manipulated. I’m literally right in saying trump has done nothing treasonous, by definition. @Ynotisay
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
@Pherick Of course they can. Many people value the sense of validation he gives them more than they value their country.
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
@GlitterBug It's a stretch. The house investigation, headed by his own party, stated that while there was no collusion with Russia, he did have repeated, inappropriate contact with Russian officials. Which is a lot like saying, even though he aimed the gun and pulled the trigger, he didn't shoot anybody.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@GlitterBug Also, no rush or anything, just waiting on all those facts you have to prove things incorrect.

Thanks!
GlitterBug · 22-25, F
@Pherick (copies from below) As far as I’m aware the only thing that we all seem to be in agreement on was that Russia was able to infiltrate the DNC server. But the problem that we have right now is the Democratic Party refused to give their server to the fbi but now the server has disappeared. There is no way to analyze what actually happened because we’re missing those pieces. Therefore we don’t have the information to say he committed treason because he agreed there’s no proof Russia hacked the elections. In fact, in New York watzerman-Schultz hired people who were NOT allowed clearance to view the information in the servers she ran in New York, those people were found to be sending our classified information to Lebanon. Etc etc etc. you can prove this. The corruption is so deep it’s not funny. Trump did not commit treason by talking to Russia about these points
