Sadiq Khan baby balloon crowdfunding SMASHES target in outrage over Trump protest
SADIQ Khan may be forced to approve a request from protesters seeking to float a huge balloon depicting him as a giant baby after the initial crowdfunding target to have the blimp made was smashed in less than a week.Demonstrators are planning to have the huge Sadiq Khan baby balloon fly over London to protest the Mayor's decision to allow an "angry baby Trump" balloon to float as part of a protest against US President Donald Trump's official visit to the UK.

The crowdfunding had a £10,000 starting target but was soon smashed, with critics of Mr Khan donating nearly £53,000 in less than a week.

Yanni Bruere, the man behind the initiative, told talkRADIO: "I was pretty irritated with Sadiq Khan and his willingness to insult the most powerful man in the western world.

"This is someone who is a friend of Britain, who is half-British himself. Two can play at that game, if they can do it, then we can."
😂

My sister-in-law predicted the other day that would happen.

Of course, he'll probably try to deny the permit as some anti-Muslim thing.

I just hope his diaper doesn't leak.

@beckyromero Sorry to disappoint, yet another bogus story by the far right and picked up by the trumpettes across the pond.

In doing a little Googling, the story of a potential Sadiq Khan baby balloon appears true. In this article, the mayor even said he'd approve the permit for it.

Or are these more of those British tabloids that publish fake news?

We have them here, too. Like the National Enquirer. Sometimes, though, they get stuff right (and break the news first, like the John Edwards affair).

@beckyromero The story about a "potential" balloon is true. What is not true is that it happened.

@room101
What is not true is that it happened.
Well, since the story was about people raising money to potential make it happen, it obviously didn't happen by the time the story was written.

So just what isn't "true" about that?

@beckyromero I repeat:

The story about a "potential" balloon is true. What is not true is that it happened.

@room101
What is not true is that it happened.
And I never said that it did.
room101 · 51-55, M
@beckyromero Did I say that you did?

@room101
Did I say that you did?
You repeated the same thing in THREE different responses to my remarks.

So I felt it necessary to OTHER readers than I never said it actually happened.

@beckyromero Please note that my responses have been very brief. If you want to infer something from them that isn't there or argue about something that I've never said or implied, then have at it 👍

@room101

Argue with you?

Oh, come on now.

Hands across the sea and all that.
