Trump is in London and there is a yuuuge demonstration planned for tomorrow.

Do any of my fellow Brits like Donald Trump? How do Americans feel about the demo?

The annoying thing is the 'protest' would have had greater effect if everyone had just stayed away !

Don't buy into it.

@Picklebobble2 Really? I don't get how

@Burnley123 Any idea how many American businesses there are in Britain ? How many franchises ?
Just co-ordinate an 'anti-American business day'.

Physical protests just give him what he wants. Another opportunity to badmouth.

But hit him in the pocket so that the business world takes notice....

@Picklebobble2 Then it would have just seemed like any other leader coming. I don't think people not being bothered to protest would have shown the hatred of him.

@thatscottishguy oh i'm sure he's already well aware of that !
But it's a waste of time.

@Picklebobble2 Going after US businesses and business interests, would be the wrong move, because he was not elected by the majority of Americans.

@Northwest But that's his platform at the moment.

It's clear for the world to see his Presidency is nothing more than something of a show. Story of the mans whole public persona ! Putting on a show !

But rightly or wrongly our government thinks this whole official visit makes him feel he has kudos he can use to enhance business here and support at home.
And that, sad as it sounds, might improve life here at home in terms of jobs and trade. Even if it is short-term.

@Picklebobble2 His Presidency is a shit show, but I would hope that if I disagree with a government, I have no quarrel with the people.

I have a problem with some governments, but the people/businesses are usually the victims.

@Northwest I hear you. And I agree !
If he were here having kicked off a war in North Korea or Russia or Iraq as he wanted to I think protests would be perfectly valid !
But I don't see any advantage or potential change in his or the U.S. governments positions on anything foreign or domestic by demonstrating publicly that he's disliked because he can't or won't keep his mouth shut letting the world know his opinions when they clearly lack fact.
