Why hasn’t a CA governor become President since President Reagan?

One would think running the country’s largest state would be great training for the job?

Running the State is much more likely to be good training for being President, I think than it is a way to get the big job, especially with a huge state like California. Its easier to run on the job you did in a smaller state, like, say, Georgia or Arkansas, than it is to run from a big state like California. When, for example, was the last time we had a governor from New York even make a serious run for President?

Good point. Neither NY or CA are exactly known for political diversity lol. @MistyCee
@jackjjackson Yeah, that's a good point, too, but I was thinking more about the downsides of making more enemies as governor of a big state.
