When black families do not see a need to inspire their children to educate themselves that’s not the white man holding them down. That’s them voluntarily telling their children education is not for you.

Look at Boy Scouts. Do you know how much a boy can learn from scouting? But yet. Very few blacks join scouts which is a shame.

At some point the black community needs to stop intentionally denying opportunity to thier children. Then when thing don’t work out say white privledge.

@St0ut I believe that there are times where racial supremacy supersedes that notion. You cannot blame a person of color for being mistreated for being at a Starbucks. Or at Yale. Or an IHOPS. In other words.a person should not be subjected or judged just for being Black. This goes much deeper than economics my friend. 😊

what you are describing is not white privledge you are describing assholes.

In your heart of hearts If I go into a soul food restaurant in the inner city you think I am not going to attract unwanted attention or comments.

@St0ut clearly I am not black but even I can see that the idea that somehow black people are to blame for not educating their kids is just so over-simplified and head in the sand. You mentioned boy scouts, yes, very cool but what if as a black child you faced insults, isolation and being treated as less welcome? The same goes for museums etc.. I don't speak for the original poster but what you are not seeing, what neither you nor I can really see, is the sheer level of discrimination, how pervasive it is.. how it affects so many areas of life when you are a person of colour.

@Adaydreambeliever this is unacceptable. You automatically presume that black are less welcome is scouts for reasons. In my troop we have muslims Jews Buddhist Catholics, mixed race and Hispanics.

I have seen thousands of scouts and I have counted less then 20 because it is that shocking to see one. We teach these kids to be the best they can be. How dare you say that there is inherent rasism because reasons. Goto to your local troop and see for yourself.

Is there a sign saying no blacks allowed. Do you honestly think at a art museum with the most liberal cliently and donors there is a hostile attitude. Go to a art museum see for yourself.

Make sure you take your kids to both of you have them

@St0ut Racism isn't advertised. You can't see it because its so engrained in your mind. Your perspective on race and equality is invalid and irrelevant. Every time you speak you prove this to be so.

@Adaydreambeliever As a white person, go to a predominantly black neighborhood and expect to be treated decently. I've literally been cursed out by some black kid when I was passing through his neighborhood for no other reason than being white.

@SW-User Indeed, but does that change, or in any way lessen the injustice that occurs every single day for many/most black people? No, it doesn't... Put it this way... if we get insulted, slapped down every time we are going about our daily lives - how are we going to feel? What if the same things happened to our neighbours? Do you think we'd be cheerful and welcoming of strangers coming into our neighbourhood?

@St0ut Sounds like an escapist argument. You act like Whites are the only racists in the world. Mexicans, Blacks, Native Americans. Asians. All demographics have some sort of prejudices or another. But we live in a White Supremacy Colonialistic society. Systematic racism is far different than just having personal prejudices.
