While the line up at McDonald's, and a hapless employee may not be the time, place or individual to protest, I don't completely disagree with the sentiment. It surprises me that in this day in age, we still label toys by gender.
@SW-User They should just stop giving out toys since "this day in age" really means there will always be someone upset by it, no matter what it is.

SW-User
@AcidBurn no, not really. With all due respect, in this or any day in age, there is always room for growth. No need to throw the baby out with the bath water as they say. If not for change , attitudes towards women might still be the same as they were in the 1950's, and a woman would not be able to vote, or complain about a man's unwanted sexual advances, without it falling on deaf ears. No, I think change is o.k. It can make people uncomfortable for a while, but most get over it.
@SW-User You're seriously comparing women's rights to a toy a kid will play with for eight minutes?

SW-User
@AcidBurn I'm seriously not. I am however seriously comparing the attitudes toward gender specifics, and the notion that boys and girls need to fit into the tidy boxes society has manufactured for them. This isn't about a toy, it's about our society defining what is "female" and male". What job is only suited for women, and what job is only suited for men? How should women act, and how are men expected to act. There's an entirely bigger picture, than some cheap toy at McDonalds, or whether or not your kid plays with Barbie or G.I Joe. I don't expect everyone to see it, or agree. I just exercise my right to point it out.....albeit, probably not in a line up at a busy fast food restaurant. :)
@SW-User They offer two options. They aren't forcing anyone to put their kid in a tidy box with their toy. If your girl likes G.I Joe or your boy prefers barbie you are more than welcome to choose it for them. If you're not capable of making that call, dont get a toy, or go eat somewhere else. Only in "this day in age" would something that's literally a nonissue become such a huge deal.

@AcidBurn I couldn't agree more, which is why I don't understand why you're still hung up about it. I'm discussing attitudes , and you're still playing with the toy. I already stated that this woman chose the wrong platform for her argument in my opinion, but you seem to be stuck in the line up, still trying to get your Big Mac with a side order of justice on the side. lol All I asked was why we still label toys according to gender, and for an extra package of ketchup for my hash brown. Now you've got me thinking I should have ordered the "Happy" meal, and I could have offered the toy to some boy or girl and made their day instead.🤔
I guess it's safe to say, you're not lovin' it? lol
Oh well, I hope you have a good day. Hell.....why not Supersize it while we're at it eh? :)

@SW-User You've missed the point, but it's okay. Just be careful to use the approved neutral pronouns when you offer that toy to a young human being... or is young offensive now too? Is human being still ok? I'm sure somewhere someone has an explanation of why it's not.
Take care (:

@AcidBurn lmao. Is that the girls point, or the boys point? Hopefully they have it labelled so you know which is which. The future is in good hands, so long as you keep sitting on yours. 😍
