Decades of coalition governments is continuing.

@Mikemcneil Been reading some reports today from so many groups claiming to represent sections of Italian society and the entire political spectrum seems clearly split along pro-EU one side and pro-Italy first on the other.

Seems to have always been that way. There are too many parties involved and coalition governments are weak and ineffective. Hard to see any change coming soon.

@Mikemcneil Is it your view that Italian politics needs to evolve or do you think that people are just disinterested or divided generally ?
Mikemcneil · 61-69, M
On just the EU part of the debate Italy as a country overall do well out of their membership. They're not like Greece or Turkey for example who are really struggling economically. The far right is not the way forward in my opinion.

People in general are disinterested. There's no stability. I think the longest stable political state in the last few decades has been about three years. Plus politicians are seen as serving themselves rather than the people. The obvious example would be Berlusconi

@Mikemcneil Yes i was watching all that mess unfold and wondering why he just wouldn't go quietly ??
Perhaps power has benefits we don't know about. Either at home or in Europe.
