Can't get a Nobel with no action

"Wow," Trump said, "we haven’t given up anything & they have agreed to denuclearization (so great for World), site closure, & no more testing!"

"If I think that it's a meeting that is not going to be fruitful, we're not going to go," Trump said. "If the meeting, when I'm there, is not fruitful, I will respectfully leave the meeting, and we'll continue what we're doing or whatever it is that we'll continue."

"Funny how all of the Pundits that couldn’t come close to making a deal on North Korea are now all over the place telling me how to make a deal!"

And now the peace talks will be delayed indefinitely. Shocking.

I always smirk when I see the anti Trumpers take pleasure on this setback.

It would seem his administration is serious about this and has made some progress, but you guys would rather see this fail since you hate him so much.

It's pathetic really. Would it be so terrible if he succeeded? It seems like you guys want it to fail so you can be validated about your virulent hatred of Trump and everything he is doing. How do you keep your smug moral superiority if that is true?
GunSmoke9 · 56-60, M
@SumKindaMunster Both parties should hope that Trump can get a good deal with North Korea. The left hates Trump so much that they hope he fails.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@SumKindaMunster Trump's been led around by the nose since this discussion was generated. In all likelihood, the meeting was proposed by the South Korean president (which it was) for purposes of deceleration of war talk. A meeting like this was always tenuous at best; with Trump's typical bombastic style, the chances of the two parties sitting down are remote.

I do hope progress is made, but there was no tangible previous threat to begin with. Just a country's petulant, arrogant and ignorant leader talking to hear the sound of his voice. Sound familiar?
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Graylight
but there was no tangible previous threat to begin with
Are you saying North Korea's building of nuclear weapons was not a threat to the US? I just want to be clear.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@SumKindaMunster I don't know, is the US having nuclear weapons a threat to the rest of the world? Is Europe having nuclear weapons a threat to the US? Who can say, and who made us boss?

What I do know is that over the last 10 years Kim has been much more bark than bite. Building nuclear weapons of any kind on behalf of any nation is dangerous, but we've been dealing with this regime for years now and until we started shouting at the world, they didn't shout back.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Graylight You don't know??? Really.

So why the hysterics when Trump was rattling sabers and Kim Jung Un was threatening Guam?

Give me a fucking break. NK has been a threat since the mid 90's when they started building nukes after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Clinton, Bush 2, and Obama all acknowledged that threat.

But now that positive things are happening you want to deny that NK was ever a threat?

Just stop it. This is cognitive dissonance at its worst. Don't rewrite history in an attempt to get around that.

I always smirk, at the fake outrage, when I see Trumpers twist logic, into "anything but Trump" fake stories.

It's not that people don't want to see peace in Korea, but those with functional brains, see so many problems with the approach Trump is taking. This is particularly true, when nuclear proliferation is not the only concern here.

Not to mention that this is a self-made problem for Trump.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@SumKindaMunster I did not say there was no threat. Certainly, we have not pushed as hard in the past as Trump's own words do today. Never did past administrations talk about war or decimation.

Trump will get credit when anything of merit happens. Right now, it's all just jumble of words with a rescinded promise of action, and his own approach to the situation is part of the reason why.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Northwest Nice try dorkwest.

BULL-SHIT[/big]

When it was looking good, you were so quick to not give Trump any credit, he had nothing to do with it, it was all the South Korean President, but now that there are setbacks, suddenly it's all Trump again.

Lying, hypocritical asshole.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Graylight You said you didn't know. See quote below.

Fair enough, I may hold you to that.

It is all the South Koreans work. Not just the President, but his administration. Perhaps you did not hear about it, but you should check and see who's been in town for a couple of days now.

I didn't say it was all Trump, I never said it was Trump. He's had nothing to do with it. I'm talking about all the bragging. You should probably take a Valium, or if you live in a state where it's legal, take 5 and smoke one, your blood pressure is through the roof.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@SumKindaMunster the president of South Korea suggested meetings. What role has Trump played in this drama that Kim hasn't also played, which is essentially just showing up as long as each can keep their mouth shut long enough?
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Northwest If he had nothing to do with it, why are we on the 4th Presidential administration with absolutely no action on this issue except for Clinton's failed deal?

Why do I need to take a valium? Because you don't appreciate my passion or willingness to challenge lying turds such as yourself?

I'm good, but if I am upsetting you maybe you should stop responding and avoid me as you typically do when I confront you on your bullshit.
Northwest · M
@Graylight Don't trouble him with facts.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Northwest Run along crybaby, Graylight is perfectly capable of responding to me on her own. She's an adult, unlike you.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@SumKindaMunster Hey now. While the compliment is cautiously appreciated, Northwest is who I want to be when I grow up.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Graylight You want to be afflicted with Aspergers? I wouldn't want to aspire to that.....
Northwest · M
@SumKindaMunster
If he had nothing to do with it, why are we on the 4th Presidential administration with absolutely no action on this issue except for Clinton's failed deal?
We've had multiple deals with N. Korea over the years, done under more than a single President. N. Korea keeps cheating on these deals. Don't let the facts stop you.
Why do I need to take a valium? Because you don't appreciate my passion or willingness to challenge lying turds such as yourself?
The language you're using, betrays you. You think using insults is a challenge? That's laughable.
I'm good, but if I am upsetting you maybe you should stop responding and avoid me as you typically do when I confront you on your bullshit.
Clearly, your language indicates how calm you are.
Northwest · M
@SumKindaMunster
You want to be afflicted with Aspergers?
Says the guy who thinks using words like:

bullshit
dorkwest
asshole
Aspergers
liar

I have a suggestion for you, look up Asperger? This is really funny!
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Northwest
We've had multiple deals with N. Korea over the years, done under more than a single President. N. Korea keeps cheating on these deals.
Bullshit. We had one, under Clinton, Bush 2 failed, Obama didn't even try.

Even if it goes no further Trump made more progress on this then the last 3 administrations combined.
Northwest · M
@Graylight Thank you Graylight. This guy has been stalking me.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Northwest Yeah right. Cast your bloodshot watery eyes through your thick coke bottle glasses up just a little bit and see who is stalking who.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Northwest It's cute that you are so scandalized by being called names. I like how it completely throws you into a tizzy. As if I care that you find such things objectionable.

You know what I find objectionable?

Lying, hypocritical douchebags such as yourself who are so quick to call out other people's bad behavior while excusing your own.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
I for one am going to see what happens prior to concluding what will happen. While I agree that the president’s Saber rattling has been and will continue to be helpful the SK’s deserve a lot of credit for whatever positive movement had occurred and I’d even grudgingly give some to NK. @Northwest @SumKindaMunster @Graylight
GunSmoke9 · 56-60, M
@SumKindaMunster They just can't wait to say that Trump failed, cheer about it, then say I told you so.
Northwest · M
@SumKindaMunster
Bullshit
Here's that word again. Get your blood pressure checked out, soon.
We had one, under Clinton, Bush 2 failed, Obama didn't even try.
I guess the October 2007 deal happened in an alternative universe

https://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/04/world/asia/04diplo.html

And the February 2012 agreement:

https://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/01/world/asia/us-says-north-korea-agrees-to-curb-nuclear-work.html

Like I said, don't let the facts stop you.
Even if it goes no further Trump made more progress on this then the last 3 administrations combined.
If by this, you mean, he did more bragging than the last 3 administrations combined, then you would be right.
