Why do we call it Pro-Choice?

Instead of Pro-Abortion? Are you Pro or Against?

Because it’s not pro-abortion. I think each abortion is a tragedy but I also think there are times when it’s necessary. When and where to draw that line should be up to the woman carrying the baby.

Others seem to think that the government is better suited to make that decision for her.

@AndreaMom This this this this this, one thousand times this.

I would be ecstatic about cutting down the number of abortions, but only if it was done by providing real sex ed and access to safe and effective contraceptives, thus cutting down on unwanted pregnancies.

Yup! It’s easier just to make it illegal and pretend that solves the problem.

@OggggO I'm pro-choice but it isn't about having access to effective birth control. It's been handed out for free for years. Birth control is effective if the woman takes it. You can't take it a few days a month and expect it to prevent an unwanted pregnancy, like so many women do.
