Have you considered leaving the US? What was your experience?

I have considered leaving the US. I have only looked at other Anglophone countries. I have looked at Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

A lot of young people come to OZ as "backpackers" and spend a year working up and down the east cost in hospitality mostly.. You get to see not only Oz.. But meet other young similar people from all over..

Then its even easier. Once you get past the cost of accommodation in big cities.@Einstok

@whowasthatmaskedman I was looking at Adelaide. Seems more my speed...and cost.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Good choice One Million people.. If you have work lined up.@Einstok
Nah I like it here
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
No. But I've heard that Belize is a great English speaking country.
Einstok · 36-40, M
@greenmountaingal Are you kidding? Belize is a poverty stricken cesspool. It may be a place for older people to buy cheap land, but the country's government is corrupt. Violence is a huge problem there.
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@Einstok I had a friend who retired there and loved it. But that was back in the 70s so maybe it's changed.

@greenmountaingal It's also a different game for people who are older and have money. It is a small country with a small economy. Not exactly paradise for young working people...unless you work in tourism.

Only if Hillary was elected. Dodged a bullet
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Don't worry.. That's America.. There will be another bullet along any minute Comrade.@eli1601

@whowasthatmaskedman as long as I can see them coming. 👍
I’ve visited many other countries and it would be awesome to try living abroad..
MarineBob · 56-60, M
Then why are you still here
Einstok · 36-40, M
@MarineBob Job, Money, Distance from family.
KiwiBird · 36-40, F
Why Adelaide?
Einstok · 36-40, M
@KiwiBird Cheaper & Less people. If I were to go to Aotearoa, I'd likely go to Wellington.
KiwiBird · 36-40, F
@Einstok Really, I was born in Wellington and lived there until I was 16. Adelaide is like a big country town. I live in South Australia so know Adelaide very well. Guess getting a job might be the issue?
I’ve thought about it occasionally, but I only considered Canada, England or France, mainly because I’ve been and know people there.

@bijouxbroussard Where in Canada were you thinking?
@Einstok Vancouver or Quebec.
Einstok · 36-40, M
@bijouxbroussard Vancouver is beautiful, but crazy expensive.
