Imagine that an AR-15 was not used in the Santa Fe shooting

Who gives a flying f-ck if it was an AR15 or a phaser?

The parent shouldn't have a right to send this kid to school with a deadly weapon.

@MistyCee ??????????????? There is nothing that gives parents the right to send deadly weapons to school. What are you talking about????
@LadyBronte I agree. Now, once he's let this kid use his gun to kill, does he still have a right to buy more guns, like for his other kids?

My rant, albeit not precisely on topic, is that if you don't unreasonably interpret the 2nd Amendment and start recognizing that an individual right to bear arms is validly restricted in defense of other people's lives and public safety, there's no need to fight about repealing it and we can start talking about ... say a right to responsibly bear arms, instead of how to sell as many guns as possible out of fear of evil race mixing libtards taking all of them away.

Someone steals your car, commits vehicular manslaughter. Do you have the right to buy another car or do you just get a unicycle for the rest of your life?
@LadyBronte Good point, but remember, you have no right to own a car and have to show proof of insurance to buy one, which might not be so easy after it comes to light you habitually give drunk kids the car keys.

But I know, we can't impose a mandatory insurance requirement to buy a gun, because it's a constitutional right, right?

I think mandatory insurance should be talked about, along with explicit serious criminal penalties for not locking up guns.

But we can't talk about that, because it's an absolute right, or, can we?

I have no idea where you're from but there is a vetting process when buying a gun unless you get it off the black market. Duh. Anyone with half a brain has their guns locked up. Duh. As for insurance? Really? 🙄 Maybe if you would rhink before you post there might be something to discuss. 🤦

@LadyBronte nope. It isn'y mandatory to be vetted when buying a gun. Gun fairs do not universaly do so
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
It is in my state. With a waiting period as well.
@LadyBronte Sorry if I wasted your time.

@HerKing background checks are mandatory on a federal level for any purchase through a dealer, most of the sellers at shows are dealers. You are thinking private sales, which still require it to be documented by a licensed dealer in the grand majority of states.
