As has already been pointed out, “liberals” in modern usage are not liberal at all.

@HerKing No, because it’s true. Modern liberals believe in a certain agenda - for example, anti-racism, gay rights, government intervention to support poorer people - and despise or ignore those who disagree with them. Although the components of the agenda are for the most part liberal, the intolerance of opposition is illiberal. Of course there’s nothing wrong, necessarily, with being intolerant of opinions you disagree with. But it’s not liberal!

@HerKing you sound like a toddler

@SW-User Oh to have that innocence. Sadly though I'm much older much more cynical, and deeply saddened by the way the world is. It isn't liberal enough, because if it was, there wouldn't be a quasi despotic ruler in the WH.

@HerKing you've got a socially inept moron in the WH trying to implement the platform he was elected on - with mediocre results -due to the checks and balances within the system

@SW-User which he's trying his best to overturn. Nunes his best pet bitch has a new job, and it isn't to represent his constituants in CA. No, its to use the power of subpeona to get info from a prosecution to inform a possible defendent and probably existing ones. Since when in legal history has a sitting leader used the legislature to work against a justice department? And why if he's innocent? Trump (and Flynn-the Turkish and Russian agent) said anyone pleading the 5th is guilty. Cohen is pleading the 5th.
