Mrs Trump is recovering nicely

I wonder if watching the royal wedding is on her weekend agenda?

Washington (CNN) President Donald Trump provided an update Friday on first lady Melania Trump, who has remained hospitalized since undergoing kidney surgery earlier this week.

"She's doing great. Doing great," Trump told a reporter after delivering remarks at a prison reform event at the White House.

On Monday, Mrs. Trump, 48, underwent an embolization procedure to treat a benign kidney condition at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

"The procedure was successful, and there were no complications," Grisham said, adding that the first lady would likely remain in the hospital for the duration of the week.

She shouldn't watch the royal wedding. Nobody should. The US media's fascination with it is disgusting.
@BayouBoudin I wouldn’t even have known it was going on if people here didn’t talk about how exciting/disgusting it is.

I have, with one twist of my television dial, non-existed the media. I did that because I no longer hang out with people who have a vested interest in my distress, and the media most certainly does.

@Mamapolo2016 That's cute, you think the media is only on TV.
@BayouBoudin No, you’re cute, honey. You think the media is essential.

I don’t read newspapers anymore either. I don’t listen to the radio.

I have chosen certain sources that I consider reliable, and I read those in books or online when I am not receiving seconds-long bursts that force me to process them at warp-speed.

The media as the entity we know today isn’t much older than I am, which I admit is not young. When it really all got rolling (although news outlets have existed for a long time, if you include town criers as a media outlet) was when television found its stride well past the middle of the 1900s.

Today’s news is very much like that delivered by town criers. Someone told them what to say and they shouted it through the town.

I got along without the media before I met them and I can get along without them now.

@Mamapolo2016 I've tried to disconnect.

Agreed. Who cares about the royals. I don’t understand why British citizens fund them. Not to say anything positive about the Kardashians but at least the seem to support themselves. @BayouBoudin
@BayouBoudin I do have the advantage of being old enough to recognize the media as the impostors they are.

The media has made all of us Attention Deficit sufferers. Many of us can’t focus on even a serious topic for more than the length of time between commercials.

Are they reporting things the way they report things because those are important things? No. News is bait to tempt us to hang around so we see the bait...the commercials, which is why the media exists, so they will get paid money to tell us what they tell us. The term ‘press pool’ is not accidental. It’s where we circle the goldfish bowl endlessly so we’re there when the commercials come on.

At those rare times when we tear ourselves away from the TV we feel mildly depressed (or seriously depressed) and we think, I feel lousy. Maybe a new cell phone, a pair of $300 sneakers and pizza delivery would me me feel better.

I wonder where we got those ideas?
@jackjjackson I don’t think I need to understand people who love their nobles. I wasn’t born to that relationship and don’t understand it, but I don’t have to, do I? Tain’t none of my business.
