Palestine is dead. Israel has the power and the political will to absorb what is left of Palestinian land.

If you look at the pre-1945 maps of the region, the area is always labeled as "Palastine", because it was. Then the British kind of promised it to the Palestinians when they left, but also a few hundred thousand Jews were shovelled in after WWII and the British also promised the region to them. Both sides were promised, they couldn't agree, violence happened, and it's still happening.

@Xuan12 Jews hate Arabs. And Arabs hate Jews. It's that simple.

@Xuan12 If you look at the pre-600 map of the area it was clearly under the control of the eastern Roman Empire.

@beckyromero Neanderthals lived there before homosapiens moved in.
The peace process is an illusion. It's like people putting on a happy face around a dying man to give the illusion that everything is OK.

In the end this is between Israelis and the Palestinians. We have influence there, a lot of it, but we're still a foreign nation, and an embassy can always be moved again. I don't think anyone is lying and clearly this is going to be a roadblock, but in the long run I think it's something people can work around. If they want to - problem is, they don't.

The Embassy is one of the nails in the coffin of the peace process. The decision was made to ignore Palestinians and let them fade away, through immigration and death.
Trump hopes that, in 6 years, it will be too late to reverse the process, and he hopes to be President for 6 years. Eventually, it will all be of interest to historians. Kind of like Native Americans.
