Total misquote. Obama funded and armed terrorists in Syria. McCain too.
lorne13 · 61-69, M
@BayouBoudin of course they did
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@BayouBoudin What have Obama and McCain got to do with @Fernie's post?
BayouBoudin · 36-40, M
@lorne13 They did. The US Government armed and funded Sunni Rebels in Syria. Rebels that joined with Islamist groups that targeted Alewite and christian villages. Some of these groups joined what was ISIS. Look at Obama's actions in Libya. Continuation of Bush era incompetence.
BayouBoudin · 36-40, M
@fazer1k It's a reality check. The left bitches and complains about every little thing Trump does, yet they hold Obama on a pedestal. Conservatives say Trump is a diversion from their values. If McCain is an expression of their values, their values are garbage. Liberals think Obama was a great man. His policies continued US incompetence in the Middle East and North Africa. He let personal feelings derail US relations with Israel. He abandoned our allies in Egypt as their country was taken over by the Muslim Brotherhood. He spread money and weapons in Syria and Libya to arm Sunni Islamists. The French had to go into Mali to fight these groups that spread all over North Africa.

@BayouBoudin

Obama improved world relations; Trump has done the opposite. There's the reality check.

@fazer1k The average person is an idiot. They don't care that the US kills people in mud huts. Their perception is limited by their ignorance. They fail to recognize that Trump has not started any additional wars. He has not pushed for intervention, unlike Democrats and his own party. Obama improved world relations? With who? Outside of perception, what relationships did he build? Western Europe liked him. Does that matter? We have had solid relationships with Europe since WW2.

@BayouBoudin

Trump is basically the cause of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict going on now. Who are you trying to kid?

Following the link I provided will give you a chart country by country.
BayouBoudin · 36-40, M
@fazer1k Are you kidding? How limited is your knowledge of the conflict? You sound so ignorant. Palestine is dead. It has slowly been eaten up by Israeli settlements and occupation for the last 30 years. The Two state solution is a fantasy held by Western countries that still think they matter. There is only a possibility of a 1 state solution now. Remember when Israel bombed Gaza during the Obama administration? Remember when they ignored US demands to stop settlement expansion? This has been going on for decades.

The charts are irrelevant. All that matters are state actors and consumers. The US economy is doing well, we have finally recovered from recession. Trumps unwillingness to intervene around the world is a good thing.

Trump sucks. But people seem to ignore that Obama, Bush, Clinton, and Bush also sucked. Fake outrage.
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@BayouBoudin I said the current conflict. Call me ignorant if you like but it's clear to see the ignorance is on your side.

Here is more data from Pew Research.

How nations around the world view the United States

How nations around the world view Americans

Oil? We're relying less and less on Middle Eastern oil, yet many people around the world seem to think that's our main concern for involvement there.

Seems our tsunami relief efforts really resulted in a lot of goodwill in Russia!

@beckyromero Yes, that's Bush era data - he wasn't popular around the world either. Obama changed that and then Trump caused opinions to plummet again. Shame.

FYI

Here's a wider look, 2002-2017, and with more countries.
