Good question...

It seems that there should have been a big income boost to the UK for this (travel/lodging/food/transportation, gifts/commemorative stuff, more tourists to sites, fees for access to BBC feeds or other tv/radio income)...

Seems to me that the royals should front the cost and get reimbursed from the income streams they created, with the excess going to the British Treasury...

@SomeMichGuy ty

for me as its not a "state" event then the cost should be covered by the royals as like everyone else has to do.

as for income most of it income will be localised.
@milkymum1 yes but the taxes on these sales can be used to offset costs

I think that this us a huge boost to the British economy...maybe they will have to have lots more babies to have many more royal weddings to make up for the shrinkage of the economy post-Brexit.. 😉😑😣

@SomeMichGuy well i certainly didnt see how a wedding that cost about £32 million is good for the uk, yes it brings in tourists but only locally. most of the uk will not benefit from any income.
@milkymum1 but don't these visitors purchase good & services on which there are taxes? Wouldn't those benefit more than just locals?

and some of the goods are British-made (like royal Doulton[sp?])...and the services are British-provided...so doesn't that help keep ppl working...?

yes they do but most the goods arent made in the uk

yes services will have a tax on but thats locally in windsor

well Royal Doulton some is made in the uk but most is made in China and Thailand;
@milkymum1 RD made in China & Thailand?! oh my...ty for the info...I figured pride of the monarch's imprimature would keep it in Britain...

😣
