"The left hates this President more than they love this country"

Would you say that is an accurate statement?

Please don't confuse current Democrat politicians as fully representative of the people who voted for them.

What Chuck Schumer says or doesn't say about Donald Trump isn't even representative of all Democrats in New York, let alone Democrats around the rest of the country.

Furthermore, the left is a very vague term. It could mean communists, socialists, liberal Democrats, moderate Democrats, moderate Republicans, independents who sway left of center and, even mainstream Republicans (as far as the far right is concerned).

@beckyromero i am referring to the release of hostages and the negative comments from the Dems. Chuckie is one example. The tax cut was bashed by Pelosi. overall, i have heard nothing kind from the left of any kind.

@akindheart You are citing a few politicians as representative of something like half the country's population.

I'm a Democrat who voted for Hillary and I am happy that Trump was able to get the hostages out. Not afraid to say "good job" with that.

I also voted for McCain in 2008 and think Trump should fire Kelly Sadler for the revolting comments she made about him.

@akindheart You should actually read his comments -- quite astute about hostages being bargaining chips.

@SW-User Hostages are ALWAYS bargaining chips. That's why they are taken as hostages in the first place instead of being killed.

To say otherwise is idiotic.

We hear over and over the tired old refrain "We cannot trade [fill in the blank] for hostages."

Sure you can. Make the deal to get our people back first and then bomb the hell out of those who took them.

I would not care about keeping my word to terrorist scum or dysfunctional terror states.

That's how you show them that taking hostages doesn't pay.

(I'm not necessarily talking about North Korea situation; there are larger stakes to be won, potentially an end to the Korean War and maybe in the long term a normalization of relations.)

@SW-User Schumer's comments? all i care about is that 3 people are home with their loved ones. I feel sorrow for the Otto Warmblier family. they must be devastated

@beckyromero that looks like exactly where we are headed. peace. the fact Kim Jung Un gave themup is amazing. they could have brought them back almost dead like the Cinci kid

@beckyromero As minority leader Schumer has more of a platform. I think he was moderate in his approach and cautionary - seemed appropriate to me.

@akindheart I didn't have an issue with the comments - glad they are home, too.
