I often have the impression there are many on here that will argue with others based solely on differing political views

Even if a poster is correct it seen to be a conservative/liberal argument even on topics that it is not warranted

Perhaps, but not all of us. I get along quite well with several people whom I disagree with politically. That's because we are able to set politics aside and see each other as more than our political views.
