Was dividing us all part of Putin’s plan from the start?!

United we stand, divided we fall... are we falling? Are we becoming weak and egotistical?! Whatever happened to diplomacy?!!!!

Fuck Putin, it's our own political leaders who are dividing the country, they refuse to work together for the good of all the people..

it got bad during the Obama years and it's just getting worse under Trump..

It's become party before principles on BOTH sides..
Thank you. @SW-User
@SW-User 8 years of Obstruction didn't help the Obama Presidency
SW-User
@Pitchblue I agree, for eight years the republicans obstructed every initiative the Obama administration put forward, wether they were good or bad....
@SW-User Exactly, party before the people. It's also what Fox did for 8 years, party before the truth. Vote party line or suffer the consequences. Look what Trump is doing now, attacking a Dem Senator because he could not allow a drug and alcohol addled Dr. become the head of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Ronnie the Candy Man is not Trumps doctor anymore. The hypocrisy is outrageous.
@Pitchblue @SW-User That's likely all true. But assigning blame isn't what we need to be doing right now.

We need to be broadcasting loud and clear that yeah, we went along with the choosing-up-sides-thing, but it's crippling us. If the election in 2020 doesn't result in skyrockets and 'I get it now' lightbulbs in the sky over DC, I fear the damage may be beyond repair.

We have to begin parenting our country and stop rewarding obstructive behavior. This means NOT re-electing people who won't play. They make a dandy sound bite as a partisan snack but they don't accomplish anything. Meanwhile, children are killed, infrastructure is crumbling, everydamnbody in the country is confused, and confusion is dangerous.

Whoever is responsible, they have succeeded in making many of us hate our Republic, which is equivalent to hating ourselves. I view current circumstances as a version of national 'cutting.'

Cool heads across the negotiating table are needed, and I see more and more heads on fire.

Vote out ALL the incumbents..
career politicians got us into this mess.. it's time for all of them to GTFO!
@SW-User I agree. Let's assume for argument's sake that I am conservative-leaning and you are liberal or progressive-leaning. We shake hands here and now on one thing - career politicians have to go.

What mechanism can we use to ensure both of us live up to the bargain? What can we do to make it happen?
SW-User
@Mamapolo2016 I dont know.
I just know that i wont vote for an incumbent even if it means voting for the opposing party candidate.. no matter what their position is on the issues that concern me..
@SW-User I'm there too. First priority - keep 'em moving

@Mamapolo2016
80 percent of incumbents get re elected in every cycle..
until that changes, nothing else will..

I want term limits for all of them, and one six year term for the President..
eight years max for the rest of them..
and they should be barred from lobbying Congress for the same amount of time they served in office or for 4 years, wich ever is longer.
@SW-User I think your proposal is generous, but I can live with it. What needs to happen is that voters need to agree on the priority of clearing the deadwood out of our governing bodies, because it's become obvious to me THEY aren't going to do it.

The obstacle is, what if I (and people of like mind) say, YEAH! What you said! Then you work to achieve it and I don't. In the process all my leeches get re-elected while you've got a bunch of clueless newbies. We have to figure a way to keep both sides honest.
