you could substitute any two nations in either order and see the same result.
the whole purpose of a war is to break things and kill people.
you can't do that without dehumanizing the other side and building up a whole lotta hate.

@Newandimproved so nuclear weapons are the answer? Harry S. Truman condemned his actions until the day he died

@SmoothestCriminalEVER it stopped the war though

@SmoothestCriminalEVER I love how whenever I make an observation on human behavior it is interpreted as an approval of it
let me say it slowly for you - I made no statement of approval.
as a matter of fact I read recently in an article (can't remember where) that Japan was running out of steam at the time of the attack and that while it was generally advertised as "a way of saving american lives" if they had to do an invasion, they could have run a blockade and the nation would probably have surrendered - or even if they didn't they would have been little hindrance.
I also read that the bombs were dropped as a test of the weapon and as a caution to the soviet union so that they wouldn't start any land grabs above and beyond what the surrendere agreements allowed.
war brings out the animal in people - on all sides.

@Newandimproved oh yeah it was a test. It's so laughable! It was a great test that gave the government a great chance to infiltrate a nation and establish thier own government on which a state should be governed. Maybe it worked out seeing the tiny island is the 3rd largest economy

@SmoothestCriminalEVER wars are like that. unintended consequences.
if you want iron look at "the great war" which was also termed "the war to end all wars"
