Capitalism. I like money.
Paloma · 26-30, F
@SW-User A lot of what we have comes from capitalism and the profit motive. I don't know that we could all be communicating with each other on this silly website if it weren't for capitalism, in part.
SW-User
@Paloma indeed. :)
MethDozer · M
@Paloma Yep, don't like capitalism don't have a cellphone to bitch about it on.
SW-User
@MethDozer Everyone in China has a cellphone. Not sure how this is relevant.
MethDozer · M
@SW-User Capitalism creates these products and brings them to market. China was doing shit until they adopted more capitalist .concepts and has done better the farther they moved.towards it. China is actually a great year example for my point.

Worth noting they all have a cell.phone yet they aren't allowed free access of.the internet on it because it's subversive to the party and the state.
SW-User
@MethDozer Mmmmm. Your assessment isn't quite accurate. China was never socialist. Capitalism is good in many ways. I am not claiming that everything should be socialist. Capitalism should never be unfettered though. That is when it is truly dangerous. Capitalism in China isn't quite the same as it is here, and the companies who work the system are doing a great deal of harm. As for the Great Firewall of China, that is another concept that Westerners have trouble understanding, but that is an ideology entrenched in Asian countries. Asian capitalism is also different from Western capitalism. That has nothing to do with their economic system.
MethDozer · M
@SW-User China was indeed pure socialist and they suffered during it. The great firewall as it is dubbed here is perfectly understood. It's about controlling information and idea to control the heard and suppress individual thinking.
SW-User
@MethDozer Have you ever been to China?
MethDozer · M
@SW-User I have no desire to visit it. I'be seen enough of that South African guy try and sell.it as an utopia while doing nothing but showing how it's an oppressed collective hell hole of filth and sheep.

One does not have to visit a place to understand ideology and it's inherent flaws.
SW-User
@MethDozer Well then... I was a diplomat to China and was lucky enough to live in Shanghai. You have no fucking clue what you are talking about. You should try actually learning about the country before you make such comments like that. Shanghai makes NYC look poor.
MethDozer · M
@SW-User 1 first tier city. NYC is dump as all urban centers are. Urbanization is pollution in it's highest form.
SW-User
@MethDozer I like the pollution then... Shanghai is very definitely not a dump. But my point is that you don't actually know anything about China, so stop trashing it.
MethDozer · M
@SW-User oh the smog warnings and black clouds are a myth and the run down dumps out side their first tier and second tier cities as well. Same for their crumbling buildings that are all.show or the ghost towns created by developers. China is a magic land of virtue and promise where people don't piss in the streets and use gutter oil.

Urbanization is destructive and our greatest defect as creatures. It's disgusting and unnatural way to live. People packed like cockroaches and disconnected to the land and soil.
